November 1, 2006Today’s weather was a partly cloudy, rainy and sunny. We at breakfast and headed down to the beach front at the Ritz. About a half hour into the lounge chairs at the beach, it started to rain…hard. We got up and huddled by the little bar area which had eaves. Eventually the rain stopped…and we went for a quick dip in the hottub…and then it rained again. Ugh.
We went to lunch that afternoon at the Plantation House at the Plantation Golf Course. This restaurant is owned by the guys who own the Beach House on
We drove down into Lahaina that night to go to Pacific’os , an award winning restaurant. The restaurant is on the far end of the town and is right on the beach. The views are great and so is the food. Prices are WAY up there, but it’s well worth it. Dee Dee and I ordered a few appetizers and split and entrée. We had a scallop appetizer which was great…followed by a stacked tomato salad with gorgonzola cheese. The entrée was an Ono, which Dee Dee wanted to order. It was on a bed of white and Indian rice, covered with cooked arugula and chunks of avocado and tomato! Yum. The highlight was a banana and pineapple lupia for desert! Wow! AMAZING desert. This is a great restaurant and the chef has done some innovative stuff here..this is a must go restaurant. Make reservations at least two days in advance of going.
